RSIPF participate in Woodford School Careers Marketing program
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police (RSIPF) participated in the Woodford International School careers marketing program on 29 May 2019 at the School in East Honiara.
Officers who took part were from the Police Response Team (PRT) and Forensic Unit of the RSIPF.
During the Program, Staff Sergeant Moses Ofu from PRT spoke to the students on the RSIPF’s crocodile management.
“Crocodile is a dangerous reptile that we need to work together as a community to manage it. This will help reduce threats posed by this reptile our communities across the country.”
“For those who have sighted crocodiles in their communities the RSIPF has a standard form that community leaders can fill up to request the PRT to destroy the crocodiles. The forms can be obtained from any police station throughout the country,” says Staff Sergeant Ofu.
Sergeant Davies Kusapa from the Forensic Unit of the RSIPF also spoke to students on the work of the Unit.
“The Forensic Unit is to provide the highest quality forensic services to communities in the country, the Justice System and the RSIPF,” says Sergeant Kusapa.
He explains: “The current capability and discipline include finger print, crime scene investigation, disaster victim identification, digital forensic, forensic laboratory and forensic training awareness.”
Students and other visitors to the RSIPF stall at the careers marketing program asked about the different services the Force provides to the people of Solomon Islands.
