RSIPF receives first aid equipment
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) working at the Operation Safety Training (OST) Unit have received an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machine donated by the Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP) at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara on 2 August 2019.
Officer-In-charge (OIC) OST Sgt Johnny Niabo says, “This is a timely gift for the staff and officers of the RSIPF. It is important as it will assist us with the daily physical training that we conduct. Any participant in the training may collapse at any time and we can use the AED as first aid. The equipment can also help us when we travel to the provinces.”
OIC OST, Sgt Niabo explains: “We had some experiences in the past where officers collapsed during trainings. This equipment will certainly help our first aid.”
“Not only that but also members of the public can also benefit from it. We have members of the public using the playing grounds in Rove who might need our help in any given situation.”
“We will have no problems using the machine because my officers are trained to conduct first aid and this is a bonus for us,” says Sgt Niabo.
“I would like to thank SIPDP for this timely gift to the RSIPF. This will help us to do our job more effectively.”
