Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Kirakira, Makira Ulawa Province have arrested four suspects for committing different offences at various locations in that Province over the weekend.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira Ulawa Province, Inspector Jerry Muaki says, “Three of the suspects were arrested and charged for intimidation contrary to section 231 of the Penal Code, burglary contrary to section 229 of the Penal Code and illegal sale of liquor contrary to section 65 of the Liquor Act. The fourth suspect was arrested and charged for criminal trespass contrary to section 189 (1) of the Penal Code and intimidation contrary to section 231of the Penal Code.”

“The incidents happened at different villages in East and West Makira on different dates recently but the arrests were done during the weekend.

These incidents happened on separate dates in the recent months but this does not stop police from following them up. We will continue to look for those who are on the run from police and bring them to Court,” says Inspector Muaki.

All four suspects were bailed to appear before the Eastern Magistrates’ Court on 17 September, 2019.
