The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) calls on members of the public in Gizo Western Province to respect law and order during the visit of cruise ship to the provincial capital tomorrow (18 September 2019).

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “The cruise ship, Ma’asdam Holland America, carrying about a thousand tourists, will arrive at Gizo in the morning with activities planned for the visitors at various parts of the town.”

PPC Lenialu says, “Most activities will be held in Gizo Town and I appeal to the good people of the Town to observe law and order and not to be involved in any activity that will disturb our visitors. The road from Chan Corporation to the Solomon Airlines office will be closed for traffic and drivers are advised to use the John F Kennedy road.”

“Let’s make this visit a memorial one for our visitors. Let us welcome them into our communities and make them feel at home so when they leave they will remember our Hapi Isles. For those travelling from the other islands to Gizo, please check the weather forecast before travelling.”

“Police in Gizo will mount an operation during the visit of the cruise ship. We will not tolerate any one who chooses to break the law,” PPC Lenialu emphasises.
