RSIPF officers in Temotu undergo OST requalifying training

PPC Toaki participates in the OST training

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Temotu Province are currently undergoing the requalifying Operational Safety Tactics (OST) training this week.

During the opening of the training, Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Temotu, Superintendent James Toaki says, “I encourage you officers who are attending the training to go through the requalification as it is a requirement of the Police Force.”

“The training is to ensure we officers maintain our operational skills in order to save lives and properties. The safety of the community is our paramount duty.”

He adds: “The office of the commissioner of police requires that all officers must always keep up to date with operational safety standards expected in the Force.”

The training is being conducted by the Provincial OST Instructor, Police Constable (PC) Rockson Tungale at Lata Police Station. An officer from the OST faculty in Honiara PC James Tome is assisting with the training. The training started on Tuesday 29 0ctober 2019.

Officers at the Manuopo Police Station in the Reef Islands are also attending the training. The training ends on 1 November 2019.
