RSIPF monitors security in Malaita Province
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are continuing to monitor the security situation in Malaita Province following a report of the presence of ex-combatants in Auki since last Friday (1 November 2019).
RSIPF is independent of any political activity. Its mandate is to ensure law, order is maintained, and citizens feel safe to move around the community.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Solomon Sisimia says, “I call on members of the public in Auki and the whole of Malaita Province as well as the media for that matter not to spread unfounded information that might lead to any violence.”
