As part of ongoing efforts to enhance capability, several Units within the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will conduct a scenario exercise at the National Parliament in Honiara on 29th November 2016.
The scenario training exercise will involve the Police Response Team (PRT), Close Personal Protection (CPP) and Professional Standard Internal Investigation (PSII) Unit. Participants in the exercise will also be drawn from the different provincial police stations, various police departments and units to boost their knowledge and readiness in preparation for the RAMSI departure in June next year. The participants are currently attending the Command, Control and Coordination training course which started 21 November and end on 2 December 2016.
RSIPF Director National Emergency Management and Special Event Planning, Brian Kama said, “This exercise is mainly to protect our leaders public safety and for the officers at Police Operation Centre (POC) to experience how to monitor the situation and as a refresher for our officers in the field.”
Mr Kama added: “This scenario training exercise is important for preparedness on any issues that may escalate during this period and in the future.”
