RSIPF investigates suspicious death in Guadalcanal Province

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are investigating the suspicious death of a 40-year-old man at Rarata Village, on North East Guadalcanal on 2 January 2020.

Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Nixon Manetoga says, “On 2 January 2020 at about 10 am Tetere Police received a report from Rarata Village that there was a dead body found in a cocoa plantation behind the Village."

Superintendent Manetoga says, “Police at Tetere attended the report and discovered that the full naked body of the deceased was laid beside a log."

“Police discovered cuts under his left side arm pit and also his left side arm muscles were torn. At the scene, police also discovered a kitchen knife with blood stains still on it."

PPC Manetoga explains, "The motive behind the death is not known as investigations continue into this sad incident. Relatives have identified the deceased and the body is now at the National Referral Hospital (NRH) morgue for a post mortem.”

“It is a sad incident and my condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased at their tragic loss," says PPC.
