RSIPF in Central Province arrest 21 suspects during Festive Operations
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Central Province have arrested 21 suspects during the Christmas and New Year’s Festive Operation in Yandina, Savo and Ngella.
RSIPF officers at Tulagi and Yandina conducted the operation.
Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Inspector Hugo Maelasi says, “The suspects were arrested for different offences including unlawful assembly, unlawful wounding, criminal trespass, threatening violence, common assault and restriction on making liquor.”
PPC Maelasi explains: “Eight suspects were charged and remanded at the Rove Correctional Centre in Honiara and the other suspects were charged to appear in court at later dates.”
“I would like to thank the chiefs, Crime Prevention Committee members, the Provincial Community Officer- community governances and grievance management project Central Province and the good people of Central Province for supporting your police in promoting law and order during the festive season."
PPC Maelasi says, “Police officers in Central Province look forward to working together with the Provincial Government, the Premier, Provincial Secretary, Provincial Assembly and the community in promoting law and order for a safer and crime free Central Province.”
RSIPF arrested 159 suspects from throughout the country during the Christmas and New Year festive season.
