RSIPF arrests male suspect for alleged attempted murder in Western Province
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Western Province have arrested a man for the alleged attempted murder of his cousin brother at Guratokovolale Village, Vella la Vella on 8 January 2020.
The accused and his cousin brother were reportedly drinking homebrew at their Village prior to the incident.
It is alleged that an argument broke out between the two men and as a result, the accused attacked the victim on the head several times with a stick resulting in the victim falling unconscious on the ground with wounds to his head.
It is further alleged that while the victim was still on the ground the suspect threw a diving spear at the victim landing on his head.

The suspect and the victim were both brought to Gizo. The victim was taken to the local hospital for medical treatment.”
