RSIPF arrests two suspects in relation to the Solomon Motor Ltd incident

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the White River Police Station have arrested two male suspects on 16 March 2020 following an alleged incident at the Solomon Motor Limited in the Tandai Area of West Honiara in the early hours of 14 March 2020.

Properties including the windscreen of a vehicle, the glass windows of a shop and a fuel pump were damaged during the alleged incident.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Stanley Riolo says, “One of the male suspects is a 20-year-old from Balo Village in Temotu Province. He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm under section 245 of the Penal Code. The other suspect is a 34-year-old from Ghougau Village, in the Rennell and Bellona Province. He has been charged with malicious damage under section 326 of the Penal Code. The suspects have been released on bail and will appear in the Honiara Central Magistrates Court on 13 April 2020 for their first mention.”

PPC Riolo adds: “Police are still continuing with their investigation as it is believed that other suspects involved in the incident are yet to be arrested and charged.”

“I appeal to members of the communities in and around the White River area in West Honiara to assist the police with information that they may have on the incident. Anyone with information can call the White River Police Station on phone 21363 or 22283,” says PPC Riolo.
