Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police force (RSIPF) in Honiara have arrested a suspect following an alleged incident of discharging fire arm in the Tinge Ridge area in West Honiara on 22 March 2020.

Director of the National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) Chief Superintendent John Rove says, “The suspect was arrested but yet to be charged as police are continuing their investigation into the alleged matter.”

“I appeal to any member of the public who may have any information about this alleged incident to contact police by calling the Police National Communication Centre on 23666 or the police free toll number 999.”

“Police would like to remind members of the public that the possession of a firearm and the discharging of a firearm is illegal under Solomon Islands laws. I strongly urge members of the public who might know of anyone having a firearm in their possession to report the matter to your nearest police station,” says Chief Superintendent Rove
