RSIPF investigates two unlawful wounding incidents in Choiseul Province
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro are investigating two alleged unlawful wounding incidents which happened at two different villages on Wagina Island in Choiseul Province during the past few days.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province Superintendent Vincent Eria says, “The first incident happened at Arariki Village on 18 April 2020, and the second incident happened on 20 April 2020 at Nikumaroro Village.”
PPC Eria explains, “It is alleged that the first incident was between two first cousin brothers with another male person who is in his twenties. A fight broke out between the three people and one of them grabbed an iron kitchen fork and stabbed the victim on his upper eye brow.”
“With the incident at Nikumaroro village, it is alleged that a 21-year-old male person was stabbed by the father of his girlfriend when he went to visit her in the early hours of 20 April 2020. The victim was rushed to the health clinic at Wagina and received four stitches on his back,” says PPC Eria.
He adds: “I want to remind my good people of Choiseul Province not to take the law into their own hands but seek assistance from police if any dispute arise between any two parties in the community.
“I appeal to people in the two villages on Wagina Island to come forward since your location is very remote and assist Police with any information related to these two incidents to help police at Taro with their investigations.”PPC Eria Emphasizes.
