Supervising Provincial Police Commander Central Province Inspector Hugo Maelasi says, “About 100 participants from the Russell Islands, Savo and Ngella attended the workshop which was coordinated by the Health and Environment Division in Tulagi.”

PPC Maelasi explains: “The training included some of the prevention measures and clinical management for frontline nurses as well as training for support staff including police officers, community officers and provincial workers on the provincial plan and strategy to be implemented by Central Province if there was a positive case in the Province.”

He adds: “The training was to equip officers with ideas and knowledge to assist the front liners and support staff to prevent the virus from entering Central Province. The workshop also discussed the responsibility of police to enforce the Crime Prevention Strategy working together communities in Central Province.”

“I want to thank the hard working members of the Tulagi Medical team (PHEOC), Director Medical, and all clinical nurses for coordinating the workshop for medical staff and other provincial stakeholders on COVID-19 preparedness,” says PPC Maelasi
