RSIPF conducts awareness talk in Western province

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force at the Gizo Police Station have conducted Crime Prevention awareness talks in south east Vella la Vella in Western Province following a request by community leaders and the Chairman of the Crime Prevention Committee (CPC) 20 May 2020.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “The Community Policing (COMPOL) Team at the Gizo Police Station conducted awareness talks at Varese, Malasova and Leona villages mainly on crimes committed in the communities.”

“The awareness program targeted mainly the youth with the focus on crime including kwaso, homebrew and smoking of marijuana in the communities.”

PPC Lenialu says, “The COMPOL Team received positive feedback and acknowledgement for the visitation and the awareness program conducted in those communities and as well other good work the police do in their communities.”

“The Gizo police COMPOL Team will continue to engage with community committees through community policing programs and awareness on common crimes usually committed in our communities,” says PPC Lenialu
