RSIPF thanks Temotu provincial government for continuous support

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has thanked the Temotu provincial government for its continuous support for the work of the police in that province over the years.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial, Joseph Manelugu conveyed the sentiments when he paid a courtesy call on the Temotu Provincial Premier, Hon. Clay Forau Soalaoi in Lata on 11 June 2020.

“The courtesy call is to say thank you to the provincial government for the continuous support rendered to police during the past years and discuss other areas for further cooperation between both the RSIPF and the Temotu provincial government to prevent crime in communities throughout that province.”

AC Manelugu adds: “I also discussed with the Temotu Provincial Premier security at the eastern border with Vanuatu as Solomon Islands continues to implement measure to prevent the entry of the coronavirus (COVID-19) through its maritime borders.”

“Currently the RSIPF is implementing the Coast Watchers program to encourage members of the communities at the maritime borders to report to police any sighting of small vessels entering or leaving Solomon Islands’ common border with Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu,” says AC Manelugu.

The Temotu Provincial Premier, Hon. Soalaoi expressed his appreciation to AC Manelugu for his courtesy visit.
