The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Central Province have received operational equipment worth $30,000.00 from the Central Provincial Government during a ceremony at Tulagi on 21 August 2020.
The equipment included four supper torchlights, a generator, ten VHF radios, a base radio and four loud hailers.

Provincial Secretary Central Province Allan Siale says, “These items will support the work of the police as preparations continue for any outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Solomon Islands. The security of our people is a priority for the Central Provincial Government.”

“Without security there will be no development in our provinces. Provincial governments, government ministries, non-government organisations (NGOs) and other stakeholders must work in partnership to support the work of the police in our provinces and our communities.”

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Inspector Hugo Maelasi says, “I would like to thank all members of the Central Provincial Government especially the Premier and Provincial Secretary for the support and cooperation with police in Central Province in terms of policing during the COVID -19 preparedness operation.”

“The items gifted will support my officers to carry out their duties effectively. More especially for the generator that will be given to Yandina Police Station. I appeal to the Central Provincial Government and the communities to maintain the spirit of cooperation for the betterment of Central Province.”
