RSIPF CRU instructors train Honiara City frontline officers on POM

The Central Response Unit (CRU) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara City today (31 August) started a two-day Public Order Management (POM) Level 1 and 2 Training for frontline officers serving in the City.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Superintendent George Paikai says, “The frontline officers are from Naha, White River and Central Police Stations. The training is to fill up a few gaps in the capability development of officers especially when there are multiple situations happening in the City and the country as whole.”

“The idea is to upskill the frontline officers so that they can merge into the CRU when there is a situation happening in the City. The training will help the officers at the moment when some officers will be used at the quarantine sites and in the western border with Papua New Guinea during the Operation COVID-19.”

“The program is an ongoing POM training development, especially for police in Honiara City in order to response appropriately when called upon by our communities,” says Superintendent Paikai

The training will be conducted for two days every week starting today (31 August 2020) until the completion of the different levels under POM.
