RSIPF establishes 33 crime prevention committees in Honiara
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) has established 33 crime prevention committees (CPC) within communities in the three constituencies of Honiara City.
The 33 crime prevention committees were established to prevent crime happening in the communities. The CPC in each community will work together with the police and report any crime happening in their community.
Director of the NCPD Superintendent Solomon Sisimia says, “The benefit of the CPCs is for the communities to work together with the police to stop or decrease crime in our communities.”
“In some communities in Honiara crime and anti-social behaviour has been reduced after the establishment of the CPCs. Under these crime prevention committees, communities build a mutual relationship with the police and help to apprehend suspects and bring them to police when they commit a crime in the communities.”
“I would like to thank the members of the communities within the three constituencies in Honiara for working together with the police. The NCPD will continue to work closely with communities strengthening the relationship between police and the chiefs, youth, women and other people for the betterment of our country Solomon Island,” says Superintendent Sisimia
