The Police Academy of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force present certificates of appreciation to participants who attend Middle Management course and drivers training yesterday.
Sixteen participants attended the Middle Management Course and four participants for the drivers training.
According to Course coordinator Staff Sargent Agnes Ape said, “Upon successful completion, the participant will have revised understanding of the Sergeant and Staff Sergeant’s role and knowledge of the relevant policies and procedures relating to their duties”.
She said, “They will also enhance their knowledge and improve their skills in accordance with the following core competencies; organisational responsibilities, command responsibilities, community Responsibilities, leadership and legislation”.
She said, “The aim of the course is to develop the knowledge and skills of RSIPF Sergeants and Staff Sergeants to confidently, professionally and effectively perform the role within the RSIPF”.
Sergeant Alwin Idu, Driver Coordinator before the presentation of the certificates said the training provide Improved driving skills, More effective response to incidents, Ability to operate vehicles in difficult terrain, Safe, competent driving skills, Improved drivers knowledge, improved drivers skills, better basic vehicle checks, better care of vehicle equipment and Higher standard of driving.
The RSIPF Assistant Commissioner, Corporate Support Mr. Simpson Pogeava acknowledged the RSIPF Police Academy and the PPF advisor to the Academy for their efforts to successfully coordinate the two programs.
Mr. Pogeava acknowledged the course participants for their attendance and asked them to be an agent of change to what they have learnt during their training programs.
