RSIPF upgrades its conferencing facilities with microphone system from SIPDP
Conferencing facilities at the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Headquarters in Honiara have been upgraded after receiving a $135,000 microphone conferencing system from the Australian Government through the Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP)
Commander of the SIPDP, Mark Ney handed over the system to the Minister of Police, National Security and Correctional Services, Hon. Anthony Veke during a brief ceremony at the RSIPF Conference Centre at Rove on 4 November 2025.
Provincial Police Commanders and RSIPF departmental directors witnessed the ceremony and are the first group to use the new equipment during their conference that is underway at the Rove Police Headquarters until tomorrow Friday 6 November 2020.
“This system will significantly improve the quality of conferences and other meetings held here at the RSIPF Conference Centre as it will enable participants to engage more effectively during the meetings,” says RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau.
“With the new system RSIPF will also be able to observe the COVID-19 social distancing regulation during its conferences and other meetings as the Force continues to assist other Government agencies to deal with the global pandemic in our country.”
Commissioner Mangau adds, “I wish to thank the Government of Australia through the SIPDP for their continuing support during the COVID-19 pandemic as the RSIPF assists other Government agencies fight against the virus
The project includes a set of microphones and a PA system as well as laptops that will assist in the production of records of the conferences held at the RSIPF Conference Centre.
SIPDP Commander Mark Ney says, “The microphones and the PA system will really help with meetings as the COVID 19 has changed the way we do our business. SIPDP is committed to supporting the RSIPF deal with these changes.”
