RSIPF investigates grievous harm incident in Honiara

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station are investigating a grievous harm incident occurred at Feraladoa in East of Honiara on 1 January 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Police Station, Superintendent John Matamaru says, “The initial report revealed that the victim and his cousin brother were drinking beer prior to the time of the incident. At the time of the incident, a male suspect uttered abusive words to the victim and his cousin brother and argument start to heat up.”

PPC Matamaru says, “After the argument the suspect left the victim and his cousin brother and call his relatives for support. It is alleged that the suspect and a group of boys armed with weapons and attack the victim with a piece of timber.”

Superintendent Matamaru says, “The matter was reported to Central Police Station after the victim attend to hospital. Investigation into the matter is continuing.”

Supervising PPC Matamaru says,” So far no arrest has been done as the suspects escape after the incident occurred.”

“I call on communities in and around Feraladoa in East of Honiara who may have any information about the incident to come forward and report it to the police says,” PPC Matamaru.
