RSIPF traffic officers continues with operation in Honiara
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic Department continues with their operations that has been started on 18 January 2021.
Supervising Director National traffic Department Inspector Doreen Vaea says, “During the first three days of the operations, a total of 259 vehicles have been checked and a total of 24 cases has been registered.”
• Eight (8) Unlicensed Motor vehicle
• Six (7) Uninsured motor vehicle
• Four (4) Unlicensed drivers
• Two (2) Driving without a valid driving licenses
• Two (2) Permitting unlicensed motor vehicle
• One care less and inconsiderate driving
Director Vaea says, “All offenders were charged to appear in Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 23 February 2021.”
Director Vaea says, “The Operation will continue until the end of January 2021 and there will be ZERO warnings throughout the operation. Offending drivers will be charged and prosecuted.”
Director Vaea adds “I want to remind the public especially the road users to continue to abide by our Traffic Laws. They are there to safeguard us. Please respect and assist our officers while they were out on the road. This will assist us to minimise the continue traffic congestion in our town.”
