Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have been thanked for their continuing support in the fight against COVID-19 since the declaration of the State of Public Emergency (SOE) in Solomon Islands on 25 March 2020.

Governor General of Solomon Islands H.E David Vunagi says, “I want to thank our front liners, they are heroes. They are the ones standing in front against the virus to protect us. I sincerely thank the Government ministries and the RSIPF who have kept our beloved country safe.”

Commissioner of Police Mostyn Mangau says, “RSIPF would like to thank the Government for its continuing support for the officers at the western border with Papua New Guinea and in the emergency zone in Honiara in the fight against COVID-19.”

He adds, “I want to thank the good citizens of this country for your positive support to officers during the SOE that still exists in Solomon Islands. Your police will continue to assist other agencies in the fight against COVID-19 and make sure you are safe. I also thank officers who have been involved in the Operation in the Honiara Emergency Zone and the common Solomon Islands and PNG border.”
