RSIPF sports team receives new sport uniforms

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) sport team today received sets of new sports uniforms from the Advisor Steve Bonnici of the Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP) today 21 April 2021.

The uniforms for basketball, rugby, soccer, taekwondo and woman’s’ netball teams that worth of $60,000 SBD.

SIPDP advisor Steven Bonnici on behalf of the Cyber Safety Pasifika Team handed over the new uniforms sponsored by Cyber Safety Pasifika to the RSIPF Deputy Commissioner National Security and Operation Support Ian Vaevaso during a brief ceremony at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.

“I thanked the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Cyber Safety Pacifika Program for the uniforms and stated exercise is a proven link to the health and wellness of my officers. Exercise can reduce stress, the risk of heart disease and high blood pressure. I strongly encourage members to participate in our RSIPF teams.” DC Vaevaso adds.

“Cyber Safety Pasifika is an AFP led program, which is aimed at increasing cyber safety awareness, education and enhancing cybercrime investigations across the Pacific.”

DC Vaevaso, wished the members of the RSIPF involved in Soccer, Basketball, Netball and the Taekwondo team good luck with their uniforms when participating in upcoming sporting events. Working together on the sporting field, in the office or within our operational teams is the same, as is the strength in what can be achieved, when we work together as a team.
SIPDP advisor Bonnici stated, “One of the main aims of this project is to increase the visibility and support of Cyber Safety Pasifika within the Solomon Islands and on the sporting field. Equally important, this project assists in maintaining and raising the health and wellbeing of RSIPF.”

Advisor Bonnici also announce the purchasing of additional sporting equipment for these RSIPF teams and would fund an infrastructure upgrade to the existing RSIPF Gym at Rove, to support the RSIPF’s Health and Wellbeing Program, including additional gym equipment at a cost of $120,000.SBD”

DC Vaevaso says, “I want to acknowledge SIPDP for their contribution to the RSIPF and for their continues support rendered since the establishment of the program.”
