Adult male person convicts for grievous harm incident in Renbel Province

A 58-year-old male accused have convicted by the Magistrates’ Court during a Court circuit in Renbel Province on 28 April 2021.

The accused was sentence for 20 months (1 year 8 months) in imprisonment.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Renbel Province Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Eddie Peseika says, “The suspect was drinking home-brew with his friends prior to the incident. It was at that time the suspect argued with the victim resulted in the suspect cut the victim on the shoulder and hand with a bush knife.”

PPC Peseika says, “The matter was reported to police at the Tigoa Police Station and the suspect was arrested and charged for the offence of grievous harm. He was released on bail condition to appear in court at a later date.”

SSgt Peseika adds, “I want to thank my investigators for the job well done resulted in the conviction of the suspect of the incident. I encourage my good people in Renbel to work close with police to deal with unwanted activities in our communities.”
