RSIPF appeals to public to respect police safety equipment’s

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) strongly appeals to the public in Honiara and in the provinces to respect police safety equipment’s.

The appeal was made after an incident occurred in Honiara that a youth has been taken to the Naha Police Station in Honiara after his right wrist been locked with the RSIPF SAF- lock handcuff.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “Police safety equipment is the property of the RSIPF and only police officers are trained and authorized under the Police Act to use them during their times of duty. Members of the public are not allowed to use those equipment’s as some of them are dangerous.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “Any sighting of these police safety equipment in your homes should be returned it to the police or any nearest police station.”
