PRT will conduct a scenario exercise at the Children’s Park and within Rove Police Head Quarter
Police Response Team (PRT) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) will be conducting a scenario exercise at the Children’s Park on the 25 June 2021.
Supervising Director, National Response Department (NRD), Inspector Elvis Manakako says, “This training is part of the preparation for the deployment of officers to Solomon Island- Papua New Guinea (SI-PNG) border.”
Director Manakako says, “This is a scenario exercise which involve water operation tactics and simulation of the rural operation tactics. Operational equipment and kits will be used during the exercise also the scenario will involve firing of simulation rounds and sound flash bang inside the Doom at Rove Police Head Quarter (PHQ) Training Compound.”
NRD Director Mr Manakako says, “Police expect the public to stay out from Children’s Park area between 7 to 8pm on 25 June 2021 to allow this exercise to happen. Assigned safety Officers will cleared the park prior to the exercise. Traffic will be halted for a short time to allow operators to cross freely to the PHQ main entrance.”
Police officers will be station around that area to direct public to avoid any inconvenience during the exercise.
Mr Manakako says, “The training exercise will start at the Children’s Park, across the main road, through Rove police headquarters and to the Doom (southern end of the Rove playing field). Please do not panic, as this is an exercise to maintain police capabilities to maintain their skills and operational tactics to carry out their mandated duties and tasking.”
