Police in Tulagi attend Chiefs convention in Central Province

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi in Central Province have participated in the 8th convention to the Vatilau house of chief in Ngella Island to the Bugotu house of chiefs held at Nagotano community on 12 July 2021.

More than hundred participants including Vatilau Chiefs and Bugotu Chiefs with some of the high dignitaries’ official from both Isabel Province and Central Province have also form part of the convention program.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province Superintendent David Soakai says , “Police in Tulagi have attended this chiefs convention not only as guest but also to provide security on high visibility patrols, as stipulated in the RSIPF Crime Prevention Strategy key component to engage and consult with communities to work with stakeholders in terms of cooperative approach.”

PPC Soakai also says, “My officers will continue to engage by providing high visibility security patrols until the closing of the convention to make sure everybody in the community is safe.”

“I appeal to the people of Central Province especially those at San Vestor Island of Ngella to work together with police as they carry out their duties at the site of the convention program and other visited areas as part of their high visibility,” says PPC Soakai.
