Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, (RSIPF) at Tulagi and Yandina in Central Province have recorded 10 arrests in relation to the 10 reported cases last week.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Island, Superintendent David Soakai says, “Among the ten recorded cases, five cases of malicious damage, two cases for threatening violence, one each for criminal trespass, a simple larceny and one for indecent act.”

PPC Soakai says, “Beside the arrests there are total of 50 foot beat patrols conducted to reduce crime and other ongoing activities and 23 communities were also visited to carry out investigation, awareness and high visibility.

Superintendent Soakai says, “It was very alarming to see our young youths involved in dangerous drugs like marijuana and kwaso. Discipline and respect starts at home. Please parents and guardians do take extra responsibility for your children.”

“I call on the village chiefs, church leaders and the communities to work together with police and take ownership of our communities to be a safe and secure environment for our children,” says PPC Soakai.

Superintendent Soakai acknowledged his officers at Yandina and Tulagi for the well-done job and the teamwork during the week.
