Police arrests a 36-year-old male suspect for the allegation of rape in Western Province

Munda Police in the Western Province have arrested a 36-year-old male suspect for raping his stepdaughter and his three biological daughters in a village in the Roviana lagoon, Western Province on different occasions between 1 January 2017 and 31 July 2021.
Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police (RSIPF) Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “The alleged suspect had sexual intercourse with his stepdaughter and followed by his three biological daughters on different occasions.”
Commissioner Mangau says, “The first incident occurred between 1 January 2017 and 31 January 2017 in which the suspect had sexual intercourse with his stepdaughter at their home village while her mother was away at the hospital giving birth to their second born child. The victim was two years old when the incident had occurred.”
Mr. Mangau says, “The second incident had occurred on the 10 January 2019 in which the suspect allegedly had sexual intercourse with his second born daughter at their home village while her mother and third born daughter was away from home. The victim was two years old when the incident occurred.”
“The third incident occurred on two different dates between 1 July and 31 July 2021 in which the suspect had sexual intercourse with his third born daughter and their two months old baby. The incident had occurred at their home village while their mother was at their kitchen busy preparing food.” Commissioner adds

“The suspect also threatened to kill his wife and the four children if his wife reported the matter to the police.”

“The mother of the four victims did lodged her complaint at the Munda Police Station and Police arrested the suspect on 9 August 2021 and placed him at the police custody awaiting remand at the Gizo Correctional facilities as Police continue with its investigation into the incident,” says Mr. Mangau.
