Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tigoa in Renbel Province were involved with the Tai sports club of Lughu community in organizing football and basketball league in their community on 18 August 2021.

Acting Provincial Police Coordinator, Police Constable (PC) David Tepai says, “It was a successful program to involve young youths in the community to take part in such activities to engage them in spots.”

Constable Tepai says, “Such a program is a good idea to engage our young people from causing problems in our communities.”

Officer Tepai says, “The aim of the football and basketball league is to engage youths and keep them away from involvement in criminal activities that will ruin their future.”

PC Tepai says, “These activities are very good and helpful to keep our community members physically and mentally fit to stay healthy as we are still in the situation of fighting against the deadly virus."

I want to thank the Tai sports club Executive and Lughu community for initiating the sports program. Police are happy to be a partner in their community activities and assured the Lughu community that RSIPF would make sure this partnership is maintained to keep our community a peaceful place to live,” says Officer Tepai.
