Nine suspects arrested for kwaso brewing in east Honiara

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson Police Station in Guadalcanal Province have raided kwaso products and arrested 9 suspects at Tenaru area, east of Honiara on 22 August 2021.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province Chief Superintendent Alfred Uiga says, “The raid is part of an ongoing operation conducted by police officers at the Henderson police station assisting the Honiara City.”

PPC Uiga says, “There were a total of 9 suspects including 2 females who were arrested during the raid and charged for court. Kwaso products are recorded as court exhibits.”

“I want to appeal to our law-abiding citizens to provide information that will assist the Police get rid of kwaso from our communities. The police cannot do this alone. It needs the support of our people,” says PPC Uiga.
