Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands police Force (RSIPF) at the Central Police Station in Honiara have arrested six people during a high visibility operation conducted in Honiara on 17 September 2021.

As part of the high visibility operation conducted, officers at Central Police Station also assist Kukum Traffic Officers to control traffic in certain locations in the city.

The operation is purposely to observe people in our city doing their business freely without fear of any crime.

The high visibility foot patrol team covered Central market, point Cruz Central Business District (CBD) areas and Government offices and controlled traffic jams at the Central market entry and bus stop, town council bus stop and Holy Cross pedestrian crossing.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City Superintendent Jimson Robo says, “A total of six suspects were arrested during the operation for different offences committed.”

PPC Robo says, “Four suspects were arrested for consuming liquor in public places, one suspect was arrested for driving an unlicensed motor vehicle and one suspect arrested for possession of Illegal drug (marijuana).”

PPC Robo says,

“Suspects were dealt with and charged for the offences committed to appear before the Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court at a later date.”

I want to thank the public for their support and cooperation while officers are on high visibility. Let us continue to work together to keep our city peaceful and free of crime. I also want to thank officers who take part in the High visibility for their hard work,” says PPC Robo.
