Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force at Tulagi Police Station in Central Province have arrested three male suspects aged between 28 to 32-year-old for housebreaking and demanding money on 29 September 2021.

Initial report said that the suspects went to the complainant's house at Panueli village, Savo Island on 24 September 2021 and demanded money. The complainant feared the demand and left to another location for safety.

It was alleged that about 2am on 25 September 2021, the suspects broke into the complainant’s dwelling house and removed food and other valuable properties.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province Superintendent David Soakai says, “The matter was reported to police by the complainant and the suspects were arrested and placed in cell.”

PPC Soakai says, “They were later released and charged for the offence of House break-in and unlawful demand and released on bail to appear at the Tulagi Magistrates’ Court at a later date.”

“I want to thank the Crime Prevention Committee at Panueli village for your support in dealing with this issue. You have played a major role in your community for the safety of everyone. I appeal to the people in communities around Central Province to respect each other and consult police through our CPCs if you have any disagreement with anyone in the community. Police will not tolerate anyone with no care attitude, being ignorant and disrespecting people in our communities,” says PPC Soakai.
