RSIPF witness launching of by-law in Makira-Ulawa Province

It is indeed a milestone for Ngaridarao community in West Makira to launch its by-law after months of hard work by the community leaders and Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF), Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Ward 6 Honorable Francis Drake Tahokeni told his people during the launching of the by-law on 30 September 2021.

More than a thousand people in nearby villages took part and witnessed the program launching.

Speaking during the Launching program, Community Policing Officer Police Constable Audrey Suhata thanked the leaders of Ngaridao Community by working in partnership with the Police Crime Prevention Strategy Office to launch the by-law successfully.

The by-law will help us see peace and harmony in our villages and communities. I appeal to the community to respect the community leaders when enforcing the by- laws in our communities.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander Makira-Ulawa Province Inspector Jerry Muaki says, “Law and order in the community to prevent crime is the responsibility of everyone, and I believe the only way forward for us to address anti-social issues in our communities is through partnership or working together. Let us not work in isolation but let us work together to build a strong and consistent network to address issues in our communities.”

PPC Muaki says, “The office of the Provincial Police Commander (PPC) would like all Communities in Makira-Ulawa Province to be part of the Crime Prevention Strategy. Any community wishing to set up their by-laws are encouraged to visit our Community Policing Unit at the Kirakira Police Station.”
