RSIPF and CGGMP conduct Mechanism training Program in Central Province

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Tulagi together with the Community Governance and Grievance Management Project (CGGMP) has conducted a training program to 50 participants from Ngella and Savo from 4 to 5 October 2021.
The 50 participants both women and men from identified villages around Ngella and Savo, have participated in the leadership and Grievance mechanism training program at Kulikau Tabu Home Stay in Ngella Island Central Province.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent Soakai says, “I am privileged indeed under the arm of the RSIPF Crime prevention roll out program in Central Province in partnership with the CGGMP program. I salute you leaders in various set up in your communities in Ngella and Savo Island for your time and effort rendering to this training.”

PPC Soakai says, “The training is to shape your mind set as a leader to redirect the course from uncertain to certainty in relation to the ways of living in the communities for peace. Ownership may reveal among people, properties and resources to accept the security measures of the leaders leading the ways of the developments to take its steps accordingly in rural communities.”

Superintendent Soakai says, “I want to acknowledge the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) for funding CGGMP as this Project works along with the RSIPF Crime Prevention Strategy in Central Province in supporting the roll out of this leadership training program for the rural communities in Central Province.”

Mr Soakai says, “I would like to thank the Provincial Secretary, Central Province Mr. Chris Siale, National Project Coordinator, CGGMP Mr. David Diosi and Provincial Coordinator CGGMP Central Province Mr. Robert. Manebona for the partnership and successful joint leadership and Grievance Mechanism Training to show your support and appreciation towards this program. I would like to highlight the engagement of DFAT through CGGMP for its support to rural communities along with the work of RSIPF in managing grievances in rural communities in Central Province."

“I appeal to the good leaders of Ngella and Savo Island to stand tall in the rural community to respect and work with the Crime Prevention Committee (CPCs) and PCOs to ensure our community is peaceful and crime free for the good of our of our children and generation to come,” says PPC Soakai.
