Three suspects arrest for causing nuisance in Honiara
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police force (RSIPF) in Honiara City Police have arrested three male suspects for common nuisance at the Oxfam area in West Honiara on 23 October 2021.
Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “The suspects were under the influence of liquor and played loud music causing disturbance to the nearby houses. A senior police officer warned them in the morning and on his way home in the evening the boys continued causing disturbance with their loud music.”
“When he approached them the second time, one of the suspects used abusive words against the officer which also included all police officers.” Commissioner Mangau adds
“They played loud music and shouting in the community without considering families living around the location. Police Officers at white River Police Station arrived at the scene and apprehended the three suspects to Central Police Station Watch house where they have been formally arrested and charged.”
Mr Mangau says, “The three suspects were charged with one count of Common Nuisance Contrary to Section 172 of the Penal Code and currently remanded at the Rove Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) waiting to appear in the Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on a later date.”
