Police arrest a 42-year-old man for having sexual intercourse with his two daughters in Temotu Province

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Lata Police Station have arrested a 42 year-old man for having sexual intercourse with his two biological daughters in Temotu Province.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Temotu Province Superintendent James Toaki says, “Initial report stated that the suspect had sexual affair with his 17 year old daughter beginning of this year 2021 until he was arrested last week and now remanded at Lata Correctional Centre.”

PPC Toaki says, “While the suspect was remanded for the offense he committed, police are investigating another allegation of sexual intercourse of his first-born daughter. Investigation on both offenses are continuing and I appeal to those who have information to assist police.”

Superintendent Toaki says,

“Police charged the suspect with Sexual Offence Contrary to Section 140[1][a][b] of the Penal Code, Sexual Offence Act 2016[Amended].”

Mr Toaki says, “This action is not good in our communities. We are the ones who are supposed to care and have respect for our children. Police will not tolerate such behaviour and will deal with such action to face the full force of law.”
