RSIPF commends communities in West Honiara for the great support during the unrest last week
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) commend communities of west Honiara and Kakabona area for the great support rendered during the unrest faced in Honiara last week.
Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau said: “I appreciate those who have shown support especially in Honiara, for working together with police officers protecting other parts of our town during the riot and looting.”
“I want to acknowledge communities in the west side of Honiara who have come out to support Police in covering half of our town area from Honiara City Council down to White river. I appreciate the Community Policing Committee (CPC) who have created checkpoints in certain parts of the western part of Honiara as far as Kakabona.”
Mr Mangau said the community support is very much appreciated.
“You have displayed great ownership of our town by protecting other parts of it from being destroyed. It shows how we value and respect each other’s property by considering those who have provided daily services to us,” Mr Mangau said.
“Your support is much appreciated and we will always look forward to working together with you. I also acknowledge that your support is voluntary. Honiara is our home and we must look after it.”
