The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) warns social media users especially on Facebook to be mindful with what they are posting regarding the recent riot.

Commissioner of Police, Mostyn Mangau says, “Some people are posting provoking statements that might cause hatred and anxiety among the communities. Police will not hesitate to arrest anyone who posts inflammatory comments that are likely to exacerbate the current situation.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “There was a post made on the social media that every Malaitans is on the list for arrest.

This is not true. Police is carrying out its investigation and will only arrest those who are involved and not the whole Malaita as stated.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “Never try to get people agitated for hidden motives but look at how we all can work together to solve the current situation for the betterment of our country.”
