Police arrests a 16-year-old male suspect for a murder incident in Guadalcanal Province
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Henderson Police Station have arrested a 16-year-old male suspect for allegedly murder of his cousin brother at Boboru village in the Tasimboko area, North East Guadalcanal on 23 December 2021.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent John Foru says “On 23 December 2021 at around 6pm the deceased was drinking alcohol with the suspect and three other boys.
PPC Foru says, “An argument broke out between the suspect and the deceased. The subject of the argument was that when the suspect walked out to urinate he heard the other three boys asking about where he was and the deceased told them that it’s not a matter of concern because the suspect had not bought any alcohol.”
Superintendent Foru says, “The suspect returned to his drinking mates and accused the deceased of what he said while out for urinating. The deceased denied the allegation. Suspect allegedly clenched a kitchen knife from his chest bag and stabbed the deceased on his left side chest.
The suspect has charged with one count of murder Contrary to Section 200 of the Penal Code ch.26. He remanded at Rove Correctional Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI) and will appear at Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 5 January 2022.
Investigation in to the murder incident is continuing and police appeal to anyone present at the time of incident to come forward and assist police with information.
