Police arrest a 43-year-old male suspect for store break-in in Western Province

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Gizo Police Station Criminal Investigations Division (CID) have arrested a 43-year-old male person for store break-in on 6 January 2022.

Initial report said that the suspect allegedly break-in at a shop in Gizo town between 1am and 2am on 6 January 2022 and remove cash and other valuable properties including mobile phones and sleeve of cigarettes
Supervising Deputy Commissioner Operation, Joseph Manelugu says, “The matter was reported to police and the suspect was arrested and placed in police custody.”

Deputy Commissioner Manelugu says, “Recovery of the stolen items was conducted while investigation into the matter still continues.”

The suspect was dealt with and charged for House Break in and committing a Felony there in, Contrary to Section 300 (a) (2) of the Penal Code. He was released on bail to appear at the Gizo Magistrates’ Court on 24 January 2022.

“I call on the general public in Gizo who may have any information about the incident to come forward and report it to police,” says Deputy Commissioner Manelugu.
