Police appeal to stay at home and adhere to safety protocols

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) advises the public in the Emergency Zone from Poha to Alligator Creek Bridge to adhere to health protocols and advices during this lock down period, which started yesterday Wednesday 19th January at 6pm.

Deputy Commissioner Operation, Juanita Matanga says, “This appeal is genuine due to COVID-19 community transmission and lockdown in Honiara.”

‘DC Matanga says, “We urged all the good people in the Honiara emergency zone to consider this seriously. We do not want a continuing increase of COVID-19 community transmission in Honiara.”

DC Matanga said officers will continue patrol and manned those check points during lock-down to ensure no unnecessary movement. All exemption personal to ensure that they only travel to do work and not abuse the exemption to attend to other activities. Any personal who found to abuse the exemption will result in the exemption being cancelled.
