Motorists in Honiara are requested to take precautions while travelling in the vicinity of the main Mataniko Bridge this Sunday 27 August as there will be a thermal fogging treatment in the area as from 6 am in the morning.
The thermal fogging treatment has been requested by the Management of the Kitano Construction to treat the high level of mosquito infestation in and around it’s worksite near the Mataniko Bridge.
“Officers from the RSIPF Traffic Centre will be deployed around the area on Sunday morning to control the traffic during the treatment since the fogging will create low visibility for drivers. All motorists driving in the area on Sunday are requested to follow instructions from the traffic officers that will be stationed in the vicinity of the treatment area,” says Acting Commissioner of Police, Juanita Matanga.
The fog will remain in the area of the treatment for at least 20 – 30 minutes.
