RSIPF will enforce curfew in Honiara
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will enforce order on curfew within the Honiara Emergency Zone as of 3pm today, 30 January 2022 and will end on 9am next day on a daily basis until it is revoked.
The order was gazetted by the Solomon Islands Government under Emergency powers Act (Cap. 11) Emergency powers (COVID-19) (No. 3) Regulations 2021 Emergency powers (COVID-19) (Honiara Emergency Zone) Order 2022
Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “Public within the Honiara emergency zone are required to adhere and follow this order.”
Commissioner Mangau says, “Businesses opens at 9am this morning and will be closed by 3pm on a daily basis to allow citizens to access to some basic needs.”
Commissioner Mangau explains, “The 4-days lock down was lifted at 9am this morning whilst Burns Creek and Lord Howe community in Honiara remain in force until they are revoked.”
Officers will be deployed to their strategic locations within the Emergency Zones as of 3pm today.
He says, “Please go back to your homes as early as possible. Anyone seen moving around after 3pm will be dealt with. Citizens are reminded to continue adhere to safety requirements as we have continue increase of positive COVID-19 cases in our communities.”
