The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has received fifty outboard motor engine and fifty boats from Australian Government during a Handing over ceremony held at the Maritime base in Honiara yesterday (3 February 2022)

The new 40 and 60 horse-powered outboard motors will boost the RSIPF’s capability to do remote policing and maritime security capability in all the provinces.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “Small boat capability is very important for the RSIPF. With more than 900 islands in the Solomon Islands archipelago, reliable outboard motors ensure the RSIPF can travel safely to do their job.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “I would like to thank the Government and people of Australia for their continued support towards RSIPF.”

Please my good Officers; I encourage you to be responsible for looking after those assets to sustain the work of RSIPF,” says Commissioner Mangau.
