RSIPF in the Western Province are investigating a robbery at the Harapa logging camp site in the Shortland Islands early in the morning of Monday 28 August during which three chainsaws, one excavator starter motor and personal belongings were stolen.
Information gathered by police in the Shortlands say the alleged eight unidentified suspects travelled in a ray boat. On their way from the logging camp they stopped at Kukuluai Island where they allegedly used a firearm to threaten the owner of a fuel depot to give them fuel.
Police in the Western Province appeals to the public in the communities around the Harapa logging camp site to come forward with information that might assist them with their investigations.
