Police arrest and charge a 29-year-old male person for obstructing duty police officers in Honiara
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Honiara City Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old male person for obstructing police while on duty at the Mendana Avenue on 8 April 2022.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City Superintendent Jimson Robo says, “The accused was arrested after he obstructed police officers. When he was approached at the Solomon Motor area after being pulled over in a vehicle by Honiara City Police.”
PPC Robo says, “Upon arrival at the station the accused provided false information to police of his real identity when he was in police custody.”
Superintendent Robo says, “The suspect e was charged with two counts. First count for obstructing police officers whilst on duty contrary to section 247 (b) of the penal code and the other count for false name and address contrary to section 177(2) of the police act 2013.”
Mr. Robo says, “The accused will appear before the Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 2 May 2022.”
