Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson Police Station and the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) assisted the community at Ruavatu in search for a missing 13-year-old boy who went missing on 28 April 2022.

Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Edwin Sevoa says, “An initial report stated that the 13-year-old boy and his three younger brothers went for a swim at Ruavatu river mouth.

Acting PPC Sevoa says, “While they were swimming, his younger brothers saw him moving towards the deep part of the river not long after he disappeared into the water. The missing boy was believed to have been attacked by a crocodile.”

PPC Sevoa says, “A team composed of four RPNGC and Guadalcanal Police Officers deployed to Ruavatu to assist the villagers in searching for the missing boy. They have searched everywhere but there was no sighting of the missing boy.

Superintendent Sevoa says, “Officers warned the villagers to be very careful and be cautious when swimming in the rivers.”
